Meet Amber Patrice Cleaver, Kansas City, Missouri native, Howard University graduate, and the chef and owner of Mo’ Better Chews.
The name Mo’ Better Chews is not only a play on the Spike Lee Classic ‘Mo’ Better Blues,’ but it’s also a means to pay homage to her hometown, the ‘Show Me State.’ Combining her love for movies and cooking, you’ll see that through her social media posts and even her customized dining experiences, Cleaver finds unique ways to pair her creation with a movie that compliments the meal. Because quite frankly, wine pairing was just too easy.
Cleaver got her cooking start from her mother, and she quickly learned that cooking had more to do with feeling and adaptability than a cookie cutter recipe. Her motto, “ The only way to cook is with love,” helps to transcend her creative style of cooking into each dish, so each bite has flavor, personality, and soul.
